In early June, Park City is quietly spectacular — warm afternoons, cool evenings, wildflowers coming in, and everything open and uncrowded ahead of peak summer. A few places we return to again and again.
Main Street · wood-fired, seasonal
Everything touches fire — open hearth, oak, juniper. Chef John Murcko’s menu is built around live-fire cooking and Utah ingredients. One of our favorite dinners in town, every single time.
Top of Main · rustic Italian
Warm Tuscan farmhouse vibes at the top of Main Street. Handmade pastas, serious wine list, and one of the most romantic dining rooms in Park City. Ask for a table by the window.
AAA Four-Diamond · New American
The town’s fine-dining anchor — white tablecloths, exceptional wine, live piano. A classic. Save room for the macadamia-crusted halibut.
Main Street · Southern farm-to-table
Chef Matt Harris’s love letter to Southern cooking — biscuits, chicken, heirloom beans, thoughtful veg. Warm, intimate, and our go-to when we want something a little different.
Aussie-inspired breakfast & lunch
The best lunch in town, full stop. Avo smash, bright bowls, excellent coffee. Expect a short wait on weekends — it moves fast.
In early June the lower trails are fully dry and wildflower season is just beginning. At higher elevations you may still hit a snow patch or two — pack a light jacket.
Guardsman Pass · ~2 mi round-trip · moderate
A short, postcard-perfect hike to an alpine lake tucked beneath Clayton Peak. Well worth the drive up Guardsman Pass. Go early in the morning for glassy reflections — the parking lot fills by 10 AM on weekends.
~5–10 mi · pick-your-distance
A nearly-flat contour trail linking Deer Valley and Park City Mountain at about 8,000 feet. Aspen groves, June wildflowers, and mountain views the whole way. Park at Silver Lake, walk as far as you like, turn around.
Deer Valley · ~3 mi · easy
An easy, scenic loop through Silver Lake Village — wildflower meadows, lake views, gentle climbs. Finish with a coffee on the patio at the Lodge at Stein Eriksen. A perfect morning hike for any fitness level.
Alpine slide & roller coaster · ~15 min from Main St
The highlight for families. Ride the Alpine Slide down the Olympic ski-jump hill and the Extreme Zip Line and Freestyle Coaster (a winding roller-coaster-style ride down the mountain). Bobsled rides, ski-jump shows, and a free interactive museum round it out. Plan for half a day.
Canyons Village · ~20 min from Main St
A second coaster and another alpine slide, plus a mountain-biking zone, zip line, and climbing wall. Great rainy-day backup since many rides run in light weather.
Minutes from Tuhaye
Paddleboards, kayaks, pontoons, and a sandy swim beach. The view from the water back toward the Wasatch is unmatched — a beautiful and easy afternoon with kids.
Highway 224 · 10 min from Main
The iconic white barn in front of the Wasatch — you’ve seen it on postcards. Pull off, walk the path, take the family photo.
Main Street · 10 AM – 5 PM, summer Sundays
Main Street closes to cars and fills with artisans, live music, food trucks, and a kid zone. Easy, free fun — and a great place to pick up a gift or souvenir before heading home.
A note on getting to the party: shuttles will run between Old Town and Black Rock Mountain Resort over to Tuhaye on Saturday evening — more details will be sent closer to the date.
